Cemetery field trip
Name: ____________________
Who from our area served, and where do they rest?
Before you go
Open the Cemetery Directory at theanzacs.co.nz/cemeteries. Search for your town. Write down:
Cemetery name: ____________________ Soldiers listed: ______ Address: ____________________
At the cemetery: find three WW1 graves
Look for headstones with a regimental number, a unit or the NZEF badge. Many have a fern or a cross. Be respectful: walk on paths, don’t touch or lean on headstones.

Search each name at theanzacs.co.nz. Did he die in the war, or come home and die later? Did he sail on a troopship you know?
Map it
Sketch where the WW1 graves are in the cemetery. Mark the gate and the paths.
