Did someone in your family serve in the First World War?
Gallipoli Uncovered · our class Anzac Day unit
Kia ora koutou,
Before Anzac Day our class is learning what happened at Gallipoli in 1915, and why. To make it real, we would love to include soldiers, nurses and others from our own families and towns.
If you know of a relative (or someone from your town) who served in 1914 to 1918, please fill in what you know below. Rough guesses are fine. We will look him or her up in the free public records at theanzacs.co.nz and the Auckland Museum Online Cenotaph, and add them to our class roll of honour.
Some of the people we find may have died in the war. We will talk about this gently. If there is anything we should know, please tell us.
Privacy: only your child’s first name and the soldier’s details are used, and they stay on the class computer. Nothing is sent anywhere.
| Name of the person who served | Rough birth year | Town or area | Unit, if known | How they are related |

Don’t know of anyone? That is completely fine. Every student will choose a soldier from our class roll or our local war memorial.
Ngā mihi,
